Study
Every exam objective gets a full reading section — two detailed prose passages covering the material in depth, an inline diagram, an (ISC)² Relevance callout explaining why it matters for your certification role, and an Exam Tip highlighting exactly what the exam tests.
Before moving to questions, you rate your confidence on a slider from 0–100%. The app records your self-assessment and compares it against your actual performance in the final report. Where the gap is large, that's where you focus next.
Inline diagrams illustrating key concepts
Extended deep-dive section — 250+ words of in-depth analysis beyond the primary prose
Bookmark any topic for quick return visits
Practice
After each reading section, three multiple-choice questions test whether you actually understood the material — not just whether you read it. Questions are drawn from the same topic at rising difficulty:
Easy: recall and recognition of the core concept
Moderate: application and analysis in a scenario
Challenging: synthesis, evaluation, or a nuanced distinction
Questions are presented in randomised order so difficulty level isn't positionally predictable. After you submit, the answer key expands immediately — every option gets a detailed explanation of why it is right or wrong.
Analyse
The proficiency report gives you the full picture at every level of granularity — from an overall score down to individual topic performance, all measured against your own self-assessment.
Overall proficiency weighted by question difficulty
Performance breakdown by Easy / Moderate / Challenging
Per-domain and per-subdomain comparison chart
Red self-rating marker on every bar — see your calibration gaps instantly
Filter by Needs attention, Overconfident, or Strong topics
Print to PDF for offline reference
The report is available mid-session at any time — not just at the end.
Comfort
Switch between light and dark themes instantly with a single click. Your preference is saved across sessions so the app always opens the way you left it.
Bookmark any topic with the ★ button — bookmarks are preserved in your session and accessible from the navigation bar so you can jump straight back to material you want to review again.
Exportable to Quizlet and Anki Flash Card Formats!
Reference
Each of the nine courses includes a dedicated glossary curated for that certification's body of knowledge — from 141 entries for CC to 288 for SSCP.
Open it from the navigation bar. The built-in glossary is searchable by term, acronym, or definition and filterable by letter, or tap any highlighted acronym in the reading content to jump directly to its definition. Definitions include source references and links to authoritative documentation where available. Click any acronym inside the reading content to look it up without leaving the page.

Depth
Every exam objective in Exam Advantage receives six purpose-built content blocks, designed to take you from first exposure to exam-ready confidence in a single pass:
Primary prose — core explanation, 100+ words minimum
Secondary prose — supporting detail, alternate framing, or edge cases, 80+ words minimum
Deep dive — extended analysis of the concept at practitioner depth, 250+ words minimum
Worked example — real-world scenario demonstrating the concept in context, 200+ words minimum
(ISC)² Relevance callout — why this objective matters for your specific certification role
Exam Tip callout — exactly what the exam tests, and how to avoid common wrong-answer traps
Across all nine certifications, Exam Advantage contains over 381,000 content blocks — all authored at college-instruction level, never generated as bullet-point summaries.
Current Events
Selected topics include a security news sidebar drawn from a curated library of 51 real-world incidents — breaches, ransomware attacks, regulatory actions, and vulnerability disclosures. These sidebars now include a collapsible discussion questions panel with three to five guided questions to help you connect the incident to the exam objective.
51 real incidents drawn from the past several years
Each linked to a specific exam objective for direct relevance
3–5 discussion questions per sidebar — expand when ready to test your analysis
Covers news blocks across all nine certifications at roughly 10% of leaf topics
The goal is to ensure that when you sit the exam, real-world context isn't abstract — you've already analyzed a real case where it went wrong.
Always Current
Exam Advantage checks for application updates automatically on every launch. When a new version is available, it downloads and installs in the background — no manual ZIP hunting required.
Course databases can also be downloaded from within the app itself. The in-app installer streams new courses directly to your installation folder with a live progress indicator — just select the exam and click Install
.
Automatic version check on launch via the update system
One-click in-app course installation — no website visit needed
Works on Windows, macOS, and Linux
All data stays local — no account, no sync, no telemetry
Full coverage
Every course is included in a single download. Install only the exams you need now — add more at any time without reinstalling.
Download the program package
Download the small program package once (< 100 KB). It contains the application, the web server, and launchers for Windows, macOS, and Linux. You only ever need to do this once, even as you add more courses
Download your course files
Each certification is a separate course file (10–21 MB each). Download only the exams you're studying for now. Extract them into the same folder as the program — they'll appear automatically in the app.
Launch and start studying
Double-click start.bat on Windows or run ./start.sh on macOS/Linux. The app opens in your browser at localhost:3000. Your progress is saved automatically after every topic.
One requirement
Node.js v18 or later must be installed on your computer. It's free, takes about two minutes to install from nodejs.org, and is only needed to run the local server. The app itself works fully offline after the first launch.
Download
Download and install Node.js (if you do not already have it installed) from the official repository
Download the Exam Advantage program package
Download the courses you need.
All links and files are available below. Add more courses at any time just by downloading the zip file and unzipping the contents into the db/ folder
Files have the date format YYDDD.rev where YY is the year (26 = 2026), DDD is the Julian day (e.g. 192 for July 11th) and "rev" is the revision number for that day. Thus a file marked with 26192.01 is the 1st revision posted on July 11th, 2026
Note: As we release program and course updates, the latest versions will appear here. You can always download the latest versions (with program bug fixes, new course content, etc.) and simply overwrite your existing copies. None of your existing study data will be lost, that information is stored in a separate .db file created on your system the first time you run the program. It isn't something we distribute and thus would be overwritten.
Step 1 — Download and install Node.js from the official repository.
Installation in three lines: extract the program package into a folder, extract your course ZIP(s) into the same folder, then run start.bat (Windows) or ./start.sh (macOS / Linux). Full instructions are in the included @ReadMe.md.
